Active Life

My favourite thing about being active is sweating. Sweating to me means I'm working out, burning energy and challenging my body. I need this to feel like I've achieved something.

I enjoy running and only recently completed my first 5km Sid Kids Fun Run however I ended up running 8km as I helped a friend run. My next fun run will be a 10km hopefully in May (Greenbushes stay tuned) perhaps the then half a marathon, marathon, 50km and then an ultra.

I recently read this book called Born to Run by Christopher McDougall which introduced the concept of running for days on end, proposing barefeet are better than specialists shoes for running.  I also learnt that running is the only sport where a 50-year-old could beat and 18-year-old in long distance running.

"Mean marathon and half–marathon times were nearly identical for the age groups from 20 to 49 years." The bottom line: Keep up your training, and there's no reason you can't continue to put in solid performances well into middle–age." (Age Matters)

I love the opportunity this gives you, no matter your age you can still run, you can always compete.

Another benefit to active lifestyles is being able to buy Nike and Lorna Jane clothes. I absolutely adore Lorna Jane, the ingenuity brought to the designs. The colours and materials used endure all temperaments.

These are the two latest wants!
